Community Research Night
Been nerding out on something lately? Itching to share it with the class? Don't keep it to yourself — share it with community instead!
This month's Portland Nonprofit Tech Club is a community research night. We'll kick things off with a spotlight on select findings from NTEN and Bridgespan's 2026 State of Nonprofit AI Adoption and Governance Report, including:
- Leadership isn't the one in the dark — the people setting the AI rules bend them more than the people expected to follow them.
- Naming an "AI owner" isn't the same as having a plan. How much of nonprofit AI governance is just theater?
- More budget doesn't buy better AI training. So what actually does?
From there, the floor is open — bring a slide, a one-pager, or just a story from your own org. You don't need to present anything to be part of it; come to listen, ask questions, and compare notes with others in nonprofit tech, civic tech, education, and mission-driven work.
No research background required. Whether you're deep in a project of your own or just want to hear what other people are working on, you're welcome to join 🙏🏽
