Cybersecurity Basics for Nonprofits

Cybersecurity can feel intimidating, but for most nonprofits it's less about hackers and more about protecting the information, systems, and relationships that organizations rely on every day.

This month's Portland Nonprofit Tech Club will explore practical cybersecurity concepts through a nonprofit lens, including questions like:
  • What are the most common digital risks nonprofits face?
  • How do organizations protect sensitive information?
  • What makes a security practice effective in the real world?
  • How can small organizations improve security without becoming security experts?
The evening will include a short facilitated presentation, community discussion, and opportunities to share experiences and resources with others working in nonprofits, civic technology, education, and mission-driven organizations.

No prior cybersecurity knowledge is required. Whether you're responsible for technology decisions, work with sensitive information, or are simply curious about digital security, you're welcome to join the conversation.
