AI & nonprofits: The view from within and without – Independent Sector, NTEN, The Bridgespan Group

Generative AI has created shifts in workplace practices as well as concerns about broader impacts. Join Independent Sector, NTEN, and The Bridgespan Group for a discussion of nonprofits and AI as they review findings from two surveys: a joint NTEN/Bridgespan survey of nonprofit workers and leaders about how they are using AI and an Independent Sector survey of the American public’s opinions about nonprofits using AI. These findings then informed a broader conversation with audience Q&A about how nonprofits are meeting this moment.

Choosing your AI path: A framework for nonprofit leaders to make strategic choices – Bridgespan

The report offers a practical framework to help nonprofit leaders make strategic, mission-aligned choices about AI across three interconnected dimensions: Augment organizational capacity, Advance mission and impact, and Advocate to help shape responsible AI development and use. Rather than suggesting that every organization should adopt AI, the framework is designed to help leaders determine whether it may or may not make sense to engage based on their mission, strategy, capacity, and context. It also includes a companion set of worksheets to help leaders assess where AI is affecting their work and identify practical next steps.
