Position Overview
The Jewish Education Project seeks a full-time Senior Manager, Data Operations as an integral member of the operations team. We are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual to be involved in both the technical and strategic aspects of customer relationship management and data management. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, Data Systems and Strategy, the Senior Manager will work closely with staff across The Jewish Education Project, a data manager, and third-party technical vendors. This role requires foundational experience with Salesforce and a genuine interest in growing skills in this area. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to help shape and implement cutting-edge, sophisticated data-based insights that help our organization see the results of our current work and possibilities for growth.

Key Responsibilities
Database (Salesforce) management:
- Establishing and overseeing the quality assurance and data maintenance processes
- Maintain operating procedures consistent with policies related to platform development and use
- User management & support- Serve as a strategic partner across the agency to help colleagues understand how Salesforce (and Salesforce-native software) can help them create efficiencies and better connect their work to the work of others
- Maintain the Salesforce report center and dashboards with reports including but not limited to grant reports, marketing & communication segmentations, and ad-hoc email lists.
- Support continuous process improvement. Help us understand how we do things and how we can do them better to amplify our impact.
- Measure our impact. Create reports and dashboards that will help us assess our programs and drive towards outcomes.
- Look for opportunities to simplify processes and make the agency’s work more efficient and propose and implement solutions.
Guide and support new data projects:
- Serve as a liaison and an implementation partner on all new projects with outside Salesforce vendors
- Serve as a touchstone for internal data projects, and the growth of our data warehouse
- Advise the Data Operations Manager’s implementation of new functionality to empower users with data to drive growth initiatives
- Set up and advise the Data Operations Manager on data migrations and/or mass data uploads from existing database and external sources to support new database initiative(s).
- Manage software test plans, including creating test cases and coordinating actual testing
- Build and maintain a working knowledge of CRM best practices, new Salesforce features, features of our data warehouse, and participate in relevant Salesforce online communities
Training and culture:
- Train staff---both onboarding and continuing education---to enhance skills, increase user adoption, and support successful change management across the organization. Teach best practices for using the platform across the agency, and build training materials that include Trailhead modules to support independent learning
- Work with the agency’s users to strengthen the culture of data collection and Salesforce usage; help drive adoption across the agency
- Other duties as assigned
Experience, Qualifications, and Competencies
- Knowledge of the Salesforce Nonprofit Starter Pack (NPSP) is preferred
- Formal certifications like Salesforce Certified Administrator, Advanced Administrator, App Builder, etc. are strongly preferred. Experience with FormAssembly and email marketing tools preferred
- Experience preparing technical user guides and delivering training
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communications skills and ability to translate technical jargon- verbally, in writing, and through presentation - into colloquial language
- Excellent project management skills with attention to detail and commitment to follow-through
- A systems thinker who can navigate the inner workings of a system and then zoom out to holistically understand how that system integrates into the larger whole of the organization
- Computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel
- Proven ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and flexibility, and will display leadership in all aspects of work
- Organizational and time management skills, a commitment to complete independent work and work as part of a team, as well as a desire to grow professionally are essential to success

- Salary in the range of $80,000 to $100,000 depending on experience
