ABOUT BOARD.DEV
Board.Dev is a social enterprise startup that is transforming board service to build tech capacity in the social sector. We’re making tech board leadership a must-have–and can-do–for nonprofits nationwide by connecting industry-leading tech talent to leading nonprofits across the country.
The need is now. Tech-savvy nonprofits are 4x more likely to achieve their missions, but only 25% of nonprofits say they have digital readiness, and 65% of the world’s largest nonprofits don’t feel ready for cyber risks. Board.Dev partners with companies and foundations to change this by placing tech leaders on nonprofit boards in tech-focused board roles that help nonprofit CEOs make tech a topic at the highest levels of strategy; make good decisions to address both risk and opportunities; and gather the resources they need to make their tech dreams reality. We also advocate for the field, conduct research, and set technical governance standards. By leveling up tech leadership and resourcing in the social sector, we help nonprofits responsibly harness the power of technology.
Board.Dev was founded in 2023 by Aaron Hurst, an award-winning social entrepreneur and founder of the Taproot Foundation–the organization that catalyzed the $15M pro bono service market–and Taproot’s founding architect, in partnership with the social impact team at Okta.
Board.Dev seeks a founding team member: a Director of Programs and Operations to help us craft our next stage by developing and managing corporate relationships and programming, raising field-building funds, and building the next generation of programming.
