Pronouns: she/her

My family roots are from Iraq, but I grew up in Montreal until I finished college. I’ve also lived in the UK and various parts of the U.S., and am currently residing in Richmond, TX, trying to handle those 100 F summers the way I learned to tolerate the cold winds and four feet of snow up north.

I hold a bachelor’s in political science from Université de Montréal and a master’s in international relations from the University of Westminster. Most of my work experience in the nonprofit sector has centered around sustainability, with a particular focus on stakeholder engagement and education for sustainable development. My journey in tech began with the facilitation of a course in digital sustainability, where I have greatly enjoyed helping folks from tech to think about web sustainability alongside more significant sustainability issues.

My growing interest in the intersection of tech, equity, sustainability, and education led me to join NTEN. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to be part of this space to work with the team toward amplifying nonprofit missions while addressing inequities in our communities. When I’m not working, I’m all about being a mom to my two kids, and I absolutely love it. I also enjoy taking long walks, reading, and connecting with family and friends.
