Position Summary:

The Director of Enterprise Applications guides the evolution of TPL’s enterprise systems, focusing on data strategy and information enablement. This role oversees the enterprise application portfolio, including CRM, project management systems, the data warehouse, and other core platforms, and leads initiatives to strengthen integrations, analytics, and automation to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.

Essential Functions:

30% Enterprise Applications Strategy

1. Help guide the roadmap, implementation, and optimization of enterprise systems including CRM, PPM, and Data Warehouse across business units.
2. Ensure systems are scalable, integrated, and aligned with business and technology goals.
3. Modernize the application stack through cloud-first, API-driven, and AI-enabled platforms.
4. Help guide the lifecycle of enterprise applications, including selection, implementation, integration, and continuous improvement.
5. Align application roadmaps with business needs, security standards, and enterprise architecture.
6. Oversee technical ownership and business partnerships with Philanthropy, Operations, Finance & Accounting, and other departments to ensure product success.

30% Technology Oversight

1. Oversee architecture and integration of core enterprise applications.
2. Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that enhance enterprise efficiency and data utilization.
3. Promote the integration of emerging technologies into business intelligence and reporting tools to deliver advanced insights.
4. Champion best practices in API management, data interoperability, and secure data flows.

20% Team & Stakeholder Management

1. Lead a cross-functional team of enterprise application managers skilled in analysis, solution architecture, system integration, and business intelligence.
2. Collaborate closely with business units to identify technology opportunities that deliver measurable outcomes.
3. Manage vendor relationships, licensing, and SLAs with external software providers.
4. Act as a strategic partner to executive leadership and department heads to identify system improvements and data opportunities.

20% Data & Emerging Technology Leadership

1. Lead initiatives to centralize, standardize, and streamline organizational data across platforms.
2. Build and execute a data strategy that includes data governance, quality, integration, and incorporates emerging technologies.
3. Drive the adoption of master data management (MDM), metadata cataloging, and robust data governance policies.
4. Support self-service analytics by integrating enterprise applications with reporting and dashboarding tools.
5. Collaborate with data, analytics, and business intelligence teams to ensure data quality and accessibility.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Master’s degree a plus
2. 10+ years of experience in enterprise applications management and system integrations
3. Strong expertise with data management and enterprise system design
4. Deep experience with platforms such as Salesforce, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, and Boomi Data Integration
5. Demonstrable advanced proficiency in SQL
6. Understanding of compliance standards for data (e.g., GDPR)
7. Proven success in leading digital transformation initiatives with measurable outcomes
8. Deep experience with enterprise CRM, data warehouse, integration, analytics, and automation platforms. Direct experience with Salesforce, Snowflake and Boomi preferred.

Compensation:

Trust for Public Land is a hybrid work environment, and this role will ideally be located near a Trust for Public Land office (www.tpl.org/offices) . As a full-time employee, you will be eligible for the Trust for Public Land’s comprehensive benefits program which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, vacation and sick pay plus holidays, a year end office closure, and a 403(b)-retirement plan, currently with up to a 7% company match. We offer competitive salaries commensurate with experience; the anticipated hiring range for this position is $125,000 – $155,000.
