Speaker openings

In today’s climate where misinformation spreads quickly and traditional advocacy tactics such as petitions are losing steam, authentic storytelling has never been more vital. Nonprofits are discovering that the voices of their own communities, whether members, volunteers, or those directly impacted, are their strongest asset.<br><br>This session will highlight how storytelling can reinvigorate advocacy, rebuild trust, and inspire meaningful action. By amplifying authentic voices through user generated content, nonprofits can cut through fatigue and cynicism and bring empathy back into the conversation.<br><br>This session will be lead by top nonprofit advocacy leaders and expert storytellers as we explore strategies for collecting and sharing stories in unique, impactful, and ethical ways. We will showcase real examples of how organizations are using stories in their communication plans and explain the process so any org can follow it. The group will also have the chance to be a storyteller themselves!

The future of International Aid has changed dramatically in the past year. Funding has been slashed and Foundations are being threatened. Community-based organizations around the world are scrambling to keep essential programs running. This comes at a time when we are at the brink of ending extreme poverty. It is time to rethink funding and the future of the donor/recipient relationship.
Many researchers and practitioners are questioning the longstanding process and are calling for bold, innovative partnerships where all people and planet thrive.
In this session we will present current academic research and ideas regarding international aid and economic partnership to launch an open and productive conversation to chart a new road map, one that is not reliant on short-term elections cycles, but long-term generational change.
