New York Tech Club Relaunch

The New York Tech Club is back! The Tech Club in NYC was one of NTEN's longest-running groups until the pandemic, when all groups across the network paused operations. Now, we are thrilled to have it relaunching.
NTEN’s Tech Clubs are local gathering spaces for people putting technology to work for missions and movements. Whether you work at a nonprofit, a foundation, or a community group, or you build the tools and provide the services those groups rely on, this is a room worth being in.

Two ways to join us.

Virtual meetup

On Thursday, September 24, 1-2 pm ET, we’ll cover what topics future events should focus on — AI, security, open source, the future of the web, and whatever else the group wants to take on. You can suggest topics, nominate presenters, or volunteer to help organize.

The Closing Social, co-hosted by NTEN and TIDEL

On Friday, October 2, we're co-hosting The Closing Social with the TIDEL Symposium. It closes out the 2026 TIDEL Conference, and it’s our first in-person gathering as a relaunched club.
U Bar & Grill
1207 Amsterdam Ave, b/t 119th and 120th
Friday, October 2, 6–8 pm ET
$20 (covers food/drinks), or included free with any Symposium, Summit, or Full Pass ticket
You don’t need a conference ticket to come.
The evening brings TIDEL attendees together with the local NTEN community — technologists, nonprofit staff, scholars, clergy, entrepreneurs, artists, and city leaders working where faith, ethics, technology, and public life meet. Expect hors d’oeuvres, familiar faces, some new ones, and plenty of ideas to trade.

If you want to make a full day out of it, check out the TIDEL Summit as well — a convening that brings together scholars, faith leaders, technologists, nonprofit practitioners, and public leaders to explore ethical, justice-centered, and collaborative approaches to technology, innovation, and digital engagement. Use discount code TIDEL20 when you register, and you might see a familiar face on the keynote speaker list!

Virtual meetup accessibility

The call is in Zoom with auto captioning enabled. Speakers prioritize leading to uphold an accessible and flexible experience for attendees.

As part of NTEN's commitment to accessibility, equity, and inclusion in our nonprofit community, we invite all participants to help create a safe and welcoming experience for everyone to maintain the value of the community by following these accessibility community guidelines:
  • Attendees are invited and encouraged to support one another's accessibility needs for the duration of the call.
  • Opportunity for attendees to choose how to participate in the call, i.e. speaking to the full group and/or messaging in chat to group as well as direct messaging to hosts and speakers, as needed.
  • Introducing ourselves and announcing our names before speaking for attendees who are vision impaired.
  • Opportunity for attendees to bring forward any accessibility requests at the start of and for the duration of the call.
Do you have any accessibility requests? If you have any specific accessibility requests to support your experience that you feel comfortable sharing with us, please email community@nten.org.

If you use any artificial intelligence recording or note taking apps, in advance of the call, please turn off as per NTEN’s AI Bot Policy:
NTEN does not allow third-party artificial intelligence bots or applications in our community calls as a matter of participant privacy. Joining one of these calls with an app enabled may mean that participants are approved to join and, if possible, the apps will not be admitted. Any AI bots that may get admitted will be removed.

The Closing Social accessibility

Most of the social takes place on the lower-level floor, which is reachable only by stairs. We’ve also reserved tables on the ground floor for attendees.
