About the Healthcare Anchor Network

The Healthcare Anchor Network (HAN) is a national collaboration of more than 75 leading healthcare systems building more inclusive and sustainable local economies. HAN defines three core strategies for health systems as anchor institutions to maximize their community impact: place-based investing, impact purchasing, and impact workforce. Taken together, these strategies form the core of the anchor mission framework that activate what we believe are their most powerful assets for promoting inclusive local economies and thriving communities.

HAN mobilizes health systems to adopt the anchor mission by providing them a strategic framework and collaborative space to implement and scale these strategies. As a national convener, HAN builds an anchor mission movement by setting institutional standards through leadership commitments, documenting and disseminating best practices, consulting on strategy, capturing sector data, and curating forums for peer learning and collaboration.

About the Position

The Database Administrator at the Healthcare Anchor Network (HAN) will serve in a dual-capacity role that blends Salesforce Administration with technology project management and data analysis, with a strong emphasis on vendor coordination and customer service both internally for HAN staff and externally for HAN member healthcare systems.  This individual should have a Salesforce Certification; with preference towards  Platform Administrators and Nonprofit Success Pack Consultants. This individual will not only oversee the execution of database-related initiatives but will also serve as a liaison between HAN staff, HAN’s operations team, and HAN’s external technology partners related to data collection. The ideal candidate is highly capable in managing technical projects and systems but also excels in working across organizational boundaries, ensuring that external vendors deliver secure, performant, and reliable data collection and analysis services in alignment with company goals, standards, and timelines.

Role Responsibilities

The Database Administrator will have the following general duties and responsibilities, as well as other duties that may arise based on the demands of specific anchor programs and project deliverables. All tasks below will be executed under the direction of the Senior Manager, Impact Measurement, and frequently in collaboration with other HAN project managers and external vendors:

Daily tasks will primarily include (but are not limited to):

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for all HAN staff and member Salesforce requests, which may include upgrades, configuration, reporting, and data retrieval.
  • Partnering with external organizations to provide data collection-related support, including requesting data, development of submission instruments, and development of related documentation.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for HAN’s dashboard, the development thereof, and HAN’s external vendor that builds/supports the HAN dashboard.
  • Providing support in project managing future advancements, upgrades, and developments across all HAN data collection-related technology solutions.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for the third-party vendors and service providers delivering database administration and support services.
  • Leading and managing cross-functional projects related to data collection at HAN.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry-standard security requirements.
  • Maintaining documentation of responsibilities, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensuring timely execution of tasks, proactive risk mitigation, and clear communication across all project stakeholders.
  • Working with Operations to ensure compliance with internal data governance, and security standards.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to define project requirements, success metrics, and deployment strategies.

This position may also:

  • Negotiate scopes of work, deliverables, SLAs, data-sharing agreements, and timelines with vendors; track vendor performance and escalate issues as needed.
  • Lead regular project meetings, status updates, and reviews involving both internal teams and external partners.
