Collective Power for Reproductive Justice (collectivepowerrj.org) is a national reproductive rights and justice organization dedicated to educating, mentoring, and inspiring new generations of advocates, leaders, and supporters. Combining activism, organizing, leadership training, and reproductive rights movement building, Collective Power promotes an inclusive agenda that advances reproductive rights and health, and social and economic justice. Collective Power is a fiscally sponsored project of TSNE (tsne.org).

Responsibilities

The Data Systems Manager (DSM) works with the Deputy Director of Systems and Sustainability to lead the overall organizational strategy for effective management of program, communications, and fundraising data.  The DSM determines processes for data collection, use, and storage in order to support and optimize work across the organization, and leads evaluation of existing systems and exploration of new systems.

Database Administration and Data Management – 50%

  • Be the primary administrator for Collective Power’s CiviCRM database, including user account maintenance, maintaining configuration of fields and picklists, and managing the relationship with our hosting and support provider.
  • Manage data integrity and work with Collective Power staff to create processes for accurately tracking constituent and donor data.
  • Train and support staff, including creating and maintain existing process documentation.
  • Work with programs, communications, and fundraising staff to identify improvements that can be made to both processes, database configurations and other data storage to better support our activities and mission.
  • Serve as the primary contact for CiviCRM vendors and consultants.
  • Work with vendors and consultants to develop system customization.
  • Supervise clean-up of existing data, including merging duplicate records, auditing records and groups, and identify missing contact information.
  • Perform data imports as needed.
  • Ensure that all data is accurately entered and saved by both supervising staff and students in assisting with data entry and performing occasional data entry as needed to support organizational activities and timelines.

Reporting – 40%

  • Analyze data and work with our support provider to create customized reports for fundraising, communications, and program staff.
  • Track program activities, including event registration, program participation, and alumni updates.
  • Extract financial reports from TSNE’s gift and expense systems to support Collective Power fundraising and financial management operations, and develop new systems to improve tracking and reconciliation of data/records between TSNE and CPRJ.
  • Work with staff to generate mailing lists.
  • Create and update reports for development and program purposes.

Other – 10%

  • Other duties as assigned by the Deputy Director of Systems and Sustainability

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends and overnight travel throughout the year to national and international conferences, convenings, trainings, and staff retreats.

Qualifications

We will consider exceptional candidates who demonstrate a strong combination of the specific qualifications and skills described below.

  • 3-5 years of experience as a power user and/or administrative user of database tools, with at least some experience with a constituent relationship management (CRM) database. Experience with CiviCRM a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Apps.
  • Alignment with mission and values.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well about technology topics with people at varying levels of skill and comfort with technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and work successfully with persons of diverse backgrounds, including people with different racial, ethnic and class backgrounds, people of different genders, and people with disabilities.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to identify and recommend process improvements and solutions.

Compensation and Benefits

Location: Work is primarily remote with some travel required as stated above.
Compensation: The starting salary for this position is $35,156/yr – $48,000/yr (based on an 18.75-25 hour workweek) and is commensurate with experience.
