Senior IT Manager

The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) is seeking a full-time Senior IT Manager in either our Washington, DC or San Francisco office. This is an exempt position that reports to the Director of Technology and has supervisory responsibilities.
The ILRC currently has a hybrid work model requiring two in-office days per week.

The Opportunity: 
The ILRC is going through a period of significant growth, and this is a new position created to support the evolving needs of our employees. The IT team is critical in ensuring smooth operations across multiple office locations who work across three time zones. The Senior IT Manager supports internal and external facing staff with a broad range of work, some days will be purely focused on the help desk, while others may require deep analysis and complex systems administration.
Job Responsibilities: 
The duties of the Senior IT Manager include but are not limited to:
Systems and help desk management: 
<ul>
<li>Oversee and supervise all IT Help Desk and Facilities (technology related) support requests across multiple offices; ensure accuracy and timeliness of responses.</li>
<li>Be the secondary owner or administrator of tech stack tools.</li>
<li>Administrate the M365 environment, including Active Directory, Defender, SharePoint, Intune, and Exchange.</li>
<li>Primary on call support to respond to Tier 1 to Tier 3 IT Help Desk requests through multiple communication pathways including but not limited to ticketing system, Slack, and email during the hours of 9am – 5pm EST/6am-2pm PST.</li>
<li>Consult on and develop trainings for staff to build out the staff website</li>
<li class="ql-indent-1">Create content for the IT section of the staff website, support other departments with posting issues as they arise</li>
<li>Lead onboarding and offboarding procedures in close partnership with HR.</li>
</ul>
Cybersecurity and Compliance 
<ul>
<li>Supervise and ensure all security alerts or system remediations are addressed in a timely manner in accordance with CIS, NIST, SOC, or SOC2 compliance</li>
<li class="ql-indent-1">Provide solutions to the Director of Technology for one off or strategic remediation</li>
<li>Lead incident response efforts related to cybersecurity events and technology outages under the direction of the Director of Technology.</li>
<li>Proactively coordinate vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, security audits, and remediation efforts for current and future technology systems.</li>
<li>Monitor security systems, email security, web filtering, endpoint protection, firewalls, passkey, and other related configurations.</li>
<li>Work closely with various ILRC teams and individuals to ensure data setup and transmission align with security best practices.</li>
</ul>
Administration &amp; Supervision 
<ul>
<li>Support the development and maintenance of IT policies, procedures, and operational standards.</li>
<li>Ensure all standard operating procedures are accurate, up to date, and change logs are documented.</li>
<li>Support the Director of Technology with core areas of work including but not limited to:</li>
<li class="ql-indent-1">Create reports and dashboards</li>
<li class="ql-indent-1">Project management for core IT initiatives</li>
<li class="ql-indent-1">Development and management of IT budget</li>
<li class="ql-indent-1">Provide research assistance, copy edits, and landscape analysis for in-house trainings</li>
<li>Work closely with and oversee contractors, including an MSP</li>
<li class="ql-indent-1">Negotiate contracts, licensing agreements, maintenance agreements, and ensure service level expectations are met across technology vendors</li>
<li>Supervise the Systems Administrator.</li>
</ul>

Compensation/Benefits: 
Pay is commensurate with experience, with an expected range between $145,000 &#8211; $160,000 annually.  The ILRC offers excellent benefits, medical/dental/vision insurance, EAP sessions, a flexible spending account for medical and dependent care, vacation, and sick leave. The ILRC also sponsors a retirement plan option upon fulfillment of eligibility. Additionally, we offer an annual professional development stipend of $2,500 and from 2025 – 2027, an annual wellness stipend of $2,500. ILRC also offers a sabbatical program: employees are eligible to apply for an 8-week sabbatical after five years of service and a 12-week sabbatical after ten years of service.

Position Summary
Canopy is seeking a Salesforce and Systems Administrator to help our growing nonprofit team maintain and optimize our Salesforce database and adjacent systems.
Under the guidance of the Director of Impact, this newly created position will serve as a central internal resource for Salesforce, supporting staff with reliable tools, accurate data, and the training needed to use the system effectively. In addition to day-to-day Salesforce administration and maintenance, this position supports related data platforms and system integrations, develops documentation and training materials, and contributes to longer-term technology planning and implementation.&nbsp;
This is envisioned as a role for someone early in their Salesforce Administrator journey who is eager to gain hands-on experience with foundational tools and platforms in an environment with ample opportunities for support, mentorship, and professional growth. Success in this role will come from ongoing curiosity, growing expertise with Salesforce, and a collaborative approach to supporting staff adoption and continuously improving our systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
For duties below, funds are available for coaching and support from outside consultants who can advise or assist with more technically complex projects while helping you build your skills.
Salesforce Administration &amp; Optimization (30%)
<ul>
<li>Manage daily administration of Canopy’s Salesforce NPSP (Nonprofit Success Pack) instance using nonprofit best practices. Manage users, permissions, profiles, and security.</li>
<li>Maintain and improve data integrity through regular data cleanups, deduplication, validation rules, and page layout optimizations. Monitor system health.</li>
<li>Partner with the Director of Impact and program team leads to map out and implement custom objects, fields, flows, and automation to support Canopy’s evolving workflows.</li>
<li>Build and maintain custom reports and dashboards that empower staff and leadership with real-time analytics for grant reporting, fundraising, and programmatic impact.</li>
</ul>
Integrations &amp; Related Systems (25%)
<ul>
<li>Manage and configure existing integrations, including Mogli, Form Assembly, S-Docs, FundraiseUp, Double the Donation,&nbsp;and Salesforce Cloud Everywhere (chrome extension), with support from outside consultants as needed.</li>
<li>Partner with the Director of Impact to research, scope, and implement new or alternative integrations as needed.</li>
<li>Assist with imports/exports and cross-system reporting.</li>
<li>Provide occasional support for data tracking systems outside of Salesforce (e.g. Canopy’s Tree Plotter database and Google Sheets-based program trackers). Help work towards Canopy’s long-term goal of centralizing data and reporting within Salesforce.</li>
</ul>
Staff Training &amp; Support (25%)
<ul>
<li>Serve as the primary point of contact for staff Salesforce questions and troubleshooting. Support staff in resolving Salesforce issues or accomplishing Salesforce-based tasks.</li>
<li>Design and deliver onboarding training for new hires.</li>
<li>Provide ongoing training for existing staff to build data literacy and support database adoption across the team.</li>
<li>Promote best practices and consistent data entry.</li>
</ul>
Data Governance &amp; Reporting (15%)
<ul>
<li>Help develop and maintain clear, user-friendly documentation of Canopy’s data policies, custom configurations, and standard operating procedures.</li>
<li>Help formalize and manage data review protocols to ensure data completeness across programs, fundraising, and communications.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Assist leadership with reporting for grants, contracts, and communications.</li>
</ul>
General operations and organizational support (5%)
<ul>
<li>Participate in staff meetings, organizational planning and team-building, and occasional community engagement and programmatic events (these are fun!).&nbsp;</li>
<li>Lend operational or administrative support to the broader team during peak organizational moments, in keeping with Canopy’s collaborative non-profit culture.</li>

Compensation and Benefits
Annual salary: $61,000 &#8211; $71,000, depending on experience

Sick leave: 12 days (96 hours) sick leave per year with a max accrual of 12 days per year.

Position Overview&nbsp;
The Technology Manager will be responsible for a wide range of technical support needs and projects, which includes providing direct support to staff, applicants, and grantees, as well as vendor management and oversight of&nbsp;buildouts and implementations within our Salesforce-based grants management system.&nbsp;
We are seeking a highly organized, administrative level multi-facetted tech expert with extensive Salesforce experience. The Technology Manager will support ten staff who work remotely and on site in two office locations (San Francisco, CA and Annapolis, MD).

Due to the nature of our personal and nuanced approach to grantmaking, automation can only go so far. trubel&amp;co is eager to welcome a full-time Director of Learning &amp; Instructional Design to lead our learning &amp; programs department at a pivotal moment in our growth, offering their experience designing, implementing, and measuring educational programs, while advancing the pursuit of justice. This is a new role, built to meet the demands of a growing portfolio of programs, a fleet of facilitators working across the country, and an emerging teacher-facing professional development practice. The Director will own the instructional vision of the organization, manage a department that includes an Associate Director of Programs, contracted instructional designers, fellows, interns, and facilitation staff, and serve as our lead facilitator for school-facing work. This role will involve a mix of instructional design, educational coaching, impact measurement, standards alignment, and curricular research, and new program development, and the role will report directly to the Executive Director. As with many start-up organizations, there may be additional ad-hoc support needed across the organization, including partnership development, communications, and client sourcing.

<h4>External Curricula Development &amp; Learning Experience (35%)</h4>
Building the learning experiences that reach teachers and school partners.
<ul>
<li>Design and develop curricula and learning experiences for external partners: workshops, PD modules, and school/district-facing programming</li>
<li>Support open access curricula development, including OER workflows, licensing, tagging, and accessibility standards</li>
<li>Serve as instructional advisor for CivicScape, shaping how generative AI tool generates curriculum that fits real classroom needs across subjects using data and mapping</li>
<li>Align external-facing materials to relevant standards (NGSS, C3, ISTE) so they land cleanly in a school&#8217;s existing structure</li>
<li>Build and maintain an internal library of PD resources for teachers, including asynchronous modules, quick-start guides, and live session guides</li>
<li>Partner with the Executive Director on light customer research—simple interviews and surveys with teachers and students—and translate the findings into our offerings</li>
</ul>
<h4>Teacher PD Engagement &amp; Ecosystem Building (30%)</h4>
Being in the room with teachers and growing the network around that work.
<ul>
<li>Run trubel&amp;co&#8217;s teacher community of practice and research-informed PD, and be the primary facilitator for our teacher trainings and workshops, building a cohort of educators who can integrate data civics and mapping tools into their existing classroom practice</li>
<li>Facilitate monthly public PD offerings for teachers across subjects, helping educators feel confident applying trubel&amp;co tools and pedagogy without needing GIS expertise</li>
<li>Travel for onsite facilitation for in-person workshops, relevant conferences, and educator convenings</li>
<li>Partner with the Growth team to identify and qualify leads for teacher PD and district partnerships, while preparing tailored proposals and scopes of work</li>
<li>Partner with the Growth team on conference proposal submissions, bringing the instructional voice and content clarity to the pitch</li>
<li>Assist the Executive Director with presentations, events, pitches, and speaking engagements related to school and teacher engagement and new pilots</li>
</ul>
<h4>Department Strategy and Internal Coaching (20%)</h4>
Running the department and developing the people in it.
<ul>
<li>Lead and manage the learning and programs department, including our Associate Director of Programs, instructional designers, fellows, and interns</li>
<li>Develop onboarding infrastructure and ongoing professional development for contracted instructional designers, geospatial justice facilitators, and new department staff</li>
<li>Design and run a structured coaching and support cycle for trubel&amp;co&#8217;s Geospatial Justice Facilitators, focused on developing their classroom delivery, instructional judgment, and curricular execution, in partnership with Associate Director of Programs</li>
<li>Observe programs in the field and virtually, and translate observations into concrete, actionable feedback that builds facilitator capacity without undermining facilitator confidence</li>
<li>Partner with the Executive Director to scope new program pilots and shape department strategy</li>
<li>Emphasize frameworks such as critical civic inquiry, abolitionist pedagogy, liberatory design, transformative justice, virtual flipped classrooms, and strategies for supporting marginalized students</li>
</ul>
<h4>Youth &amp; Community Curriculum Development (15%)</h4>
The content trubel&amp;co facilitators put directly in front of students.
<ul>
<li>Drive the design, piloting, and iteration of new curricula, including data civics workshops, GIS-integrated lessons, and civic inquiry modules, to be implemented by our facilitators</li>
<li>Build and maintain an internal library of student-facing data civics and GIS content: lesson modules, assessments, workshop-in-a-box materials, and supporting media</li>
<li>Begin orchestrating asynchronous learning modules for GIS and data civics instruction, building toward a self-paced student track</li>
<li>Connect curriculum to internal impact measures and host office hours for staff support</li>
</ul>
The role is a full-time employee position, with benefits. 100% remote, however some travel will be required. Must be legally authorized to be a full-time employee in the US. Responsibilities may evolve over time, upon mutual terms and as opportunities open up. Candidate will report directly to the Executive Director.

<h1>What the First Year Looks Like</h1>
By 6 months, you will have stood up the core infrastructure: an internal PD library for teachers, a coaching cycle for Geospatial Justice Facilitators, and a working system for how curriculum moves from idea to classroom. trubel&amp;co has two semester cycles of teacher Community of Practice to run in Fall 2026. This role will also act as the trusted advisor on CivicScape&#8217;s curricular direction. Teachers across multiple subject areas will see you as the person who can turn a rough idea into a data civics activity that lands in their classroom, regardless of subject, geography, or technical background.
By 12 months, you will be setting direction rather than just executing it. You will be identifying where new curricula pilots and program design opportunities should go next, expanding trubel&amp;co&#8217;s library of data civics and GIS content, and running the department with the standards and rhythm to scale past you. trubel&amp;co expects strong partnership with the Growth Team to identify additional leads and opportunities to drive revenue through teacher professional development and curricula provisioning. The Executive Director will be coming to you with strategy questions, not just checking in on delivery.

<h1>What we’re looking for</h1>

You know how to set quality standards, give teachers and designers feedback that sharpens their work, and build systems that make good instruction reproducible across facilitators and contexts.</li>
<li>Facilitation Excellence: You are a skilled facilitator who is comfortable leading learning experiences for teachers, youth, and mixed audiences. You make rooms feel safe and rigorous at the same time. You know how to read a room and adjust without losing the thread of the lesson. We are especially looking for candidates with experience training formal educators.</li>
<li>Data Civics and Content Fluency: You bring experience in one or more of the following trubel&amp;co topics: GIS/maps, data literacy, STEM, civics, social studies, or environmental justice, and you can make that content feel relevant and grounded for learners who don&#8217;t see themselves as data people. Familiarity with ArcGIS Online is a strong plus. We are especially looking for candidates with strong social studies/civics and/or environmental science background.</li>
<li>Coaching Orientation: You know how to give feedback that builds people up rather than diminishing them. You have coached facilitators, teachers, or instructional designers and you understand that the goal is capacity building, not compliance.</li>
<li>Strategic and Operational Range: You can think about where a program or department needs to go in 12 months and then sit down and write the rubric that moves it there. You’d led teams and departments in the past and are excited to bring this leadership to trubel&amp;co. You are comfortable holding ambiguity, making decisions autonomously with incomplete information, and proactively flagging when you need help.</li>
<li>Justice Commitment: You carry an unwavering commitment to educational equity and liberatory pedagogy. You understand that communities closest to harm have the most legitimate knowledge to address it, and that philosophy shapes how you design and deliver learning.</li>
