Introduction to project management

Project management doesn't have to be difficult. Once you know the fundamentals, it will be easier to get things done at your nonprofit. You can apply project management to anything that has a beginning and an end. Whether you're working on a website redesign, implementing new software, or creating a new program, you can apply project management principles.

In this introductory course, you'll learn the five process areas in project management — initiating, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closing — and how each can help you move successfully through a project. You'll come up with a project charter that describes a sample project's key details, such as purpose, scope, and milestones. You'll also discover many resources and tools you can use to manage any project you encounter.
