Basics of equitable program design

Has an existing program at your organization not accounted for the changing demographics of your service area? Are you aware of the unintended consequences for your organization when a service or resource intended to provide a benefit to individuals or communities has been deemed inequitable by the people you're trying to serve?

You're not alone. It can be a challenge for nonprofits to understand the delicate balance of intent versus impact in the creation and delivery of programs and services.

In this course, you'll be introduced to concepts of equity-focused community design that are integral to implementing inclusive programs in your communities. You'll explore specific practices for equitable program design, scheduling, and marketing. You'll also learn essential skills for developing authentic engagement with your organization's constituents during the design process. These elements of equitable program design are a critical factor in long-term systemic change and mission fulfillment.
