RFP: Fundraising Product Manager Contractor

Project title: Fundraising Product Manager Contractor

Project begins: October 2, 2023 - December 31, 2023 

Project length: MoveOn estimates the contractor will work an average of 30 hours per week.  Any hours given in a scope of work are an estimate and MoveOn does not guarantee a specific number of hours to its contractors.  

Hourly Rate: $75/hr

Project Overview: MoveOn’s Product team is looking for a Product Manager to support the Fundraising team in improving donor acquisition and retention, and continued donor engagement and experience, with an eye to impact, equity, and financial stability.

Scope of work:

  • Manage the roadmaps for MoveOn’s fundraising products in order to acquire and retain donors and improve their experience.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and customers to identify unmet product needs.
  • Conduct market research and user testing—and analyze learnings to identify pain points and opportunities to grow and retain MoveOn’s donor base.
  • Gather requirements and draft detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and other documentation to support technical implementation and QA.
  • Work collaboratively to design, test, and launch key features or tools, including supporting onboarding, proactively identifying and managing risks, and measuring and communicating impact.
  • Work closely with the Analytics team to run experiments, analyze donor data, propose key performance indicators, and develop tracking dashboards and reports to identify opportunities and understand the impact. 
  • Lead cross-team and cross-organization coordination to share learnings from experiments, brainstorm new ideas, and build internal alignment with priorities.

Works closely with: Crystal Andrews (Product Director), Fundraising team members, Fundraising tech engineers

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated competence in product management.
  • Technical background and knowledge of payment products.
  • Ability to lead quantitative analyses using SQL or similar tools.
  • Ability to absorb technical concepts and effectively communicate them to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with fundraising product management
  • Experience with market research, user testing, A/B testing, and build vs. buy analysis. 
  • Strong equity analysis and demonstrated understanding, commitment to, and prioritization of racial and social justice, and experience working effectively with different constituencies.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, executing, and evaluating product or feature launches from beginning to end and across technical and nontechnical teams.
  • Previous experience in an election-related role for at least one cycle, or in progressive activism, advocacy, campaigning, organizing, or politics.

Location: RFP is open to individuals/firms based in the contiguous U.S.  

Cost and availability: Include an estimate for hourly rate or project rate in your proposal and any limitations on your availability.

Most-favorable terms:

  • MoveOn reserves the right to make an award without further discussion of the proposal submitted. Therefore, the proposal should be submitted initially on the most favorable terms that the vendor could propose. There will be no best-and-final-offer procedure. MoveOn does reserve the right to contact a vendor for clarification of its proposal.
  • The vendor should be prepared to accept this request for proposal for incorporation into a contract resulting from this request for proposal. Contract negotiations may incorporate some or the vendor’s entire proposal. It is understood that the proposal will become a part of the official procurement file on this matter without obligation to MoveOn.

This request for proposal does not obligate MoveOn to contract for services specified herein.

Rejection of proposals

MoveOn reserves the right at its sole discretion to reject any and all proposals received without penalty and not to issue a contract as a result of this request for proposal.
