Position summary
Reporting to the Annual Fund Director and collaborating day-to-day with other members of the Development team, this position will use data-driven decision making, revenue forecasting, prospect research and pipeline analytics to inform, support, bolster and evaluate fundraising initiatives at Meals on Wheels America. The position will be responsible for managing data requests across the Development team through data research and analysis, dashboards, lists and other reporting tools designed to support year-over-year fundraising growth.

The position will be responsible for managing data requests across the Development team through data research and analysis, dashboards, lists and other reporting tools designed to support year-over-year fundraising growth.
Duties and responsibilities
Donor Data Management
- Serve as lead Development project manager for donor data related projects and work with the database team to manage, prioritize and complete data projects. Manage ad-hoc and troubleshooting requests.
- Manage the quality control of donor data in the database (netFORUM) to ensure the cleanest and most accurate output for donor communications.
- Leads specifications, and quality control for all donor & prospect lists to ensure lists are accurate and meet communication objectives
- Responsible for specifying and project managing all donor screenings and data appends. Work with database team and vendors to proactively identify data screening and update needs such as NCOA.
- Implement and maintain prospect management system in database. Manage prospect pipeline data that allows for tracking and reporting on an ongoing basis.
- Work closely with database team to ensure timely, accurate and secure data transfers and overlays between in-house systems and external vendors.
- Work with Development team to develop and customize marketing automation and communication series for various donor segments
- Develop power user expertise in netFORUM and various data visualization tools to generate lists and timely reporting. Train development staff members on the use of netFORUM and other systems as needed.
Tracking & Reporting
- Analyze and interpret donor data trends in collaboration with Development team to build and inform strategies.
- Using netForum, Engaging Networks and Tableau, produce regular and ad-hoc reports for development and finance departments to ensure effective tracking and management of donations and monitor progress toward revenue goals.
- Work with Development team to track and report on donor segment performance, retention rates, and progress against quarterly benchmarks to influence donor engagement strategies.
- Produce regular and ad-hoc reports on pipeline progress, proposals and prospect management.
- Utilize modeling and assess data to assist in forecasting revenue.
- Collaborate and coordinate with key stakeholders – including communications and data teams and other vendors - to evaluate performance of campaigns as well communications to donors and prospects (including email and mail) and produce reports that generate actionable insights.
Prospect Research
- Research and analyze information on corporate, individual, foundation and institutional donors. Provide research support to key leadership and relationship managers to inform development strategies and advance potential donor relationships.
- Screen, and rate potential donors, and proactively identify new prospective major and principal gift individual donors.
- Work with vendors and the development team to apply donor modeling and analysis to internal systems.
- Ensure research is accurate and up to date – and living in database.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ of fundraising or relatable experience
- Ability to understand and interpret processes and data needs
- Knowledge of best practices to share information between databases
- Advanced skills in creating and customizing reports
- Strategic thinker with strong math and analytical skills
- Familiarity with revenue forecasting and data modeling
- Experience with online fundraising platforms (Engaging Networks preferred) and donor databases (netFORUM preferred)
- Strong written and oral communication skills and an ability to translate complex data requirements into plain language for staff and vendors.
- Highly collaborative with a can-do attitude and a passion for our shared work as an organization

- Expertise in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
- Strong project management track record. Ability to track multiple projects at a time and to prioritize appropriately.
