Executive Director

About the Role

The Canadian Centre for Nonprofit Digital Resilience (CCNDR) is looking for an Executive Director to guide our organization into the future.

As a leader with an innovative spirit, you will play a critical role in leading the Centre’s vision of a digitally enabled nonprofit sector, where Canada’s nonprofits use data and technology to advance their mission and multiply their impact. While embracing CCNDR’s commitment to equity in all aspects of work, you will:

  • Identify and anticipate the digital resilience needs of the sector and work with co-founders and staff to develop strategies to meet those needs;

  • Initiate and steward relationships with CCNDR advisors, organizational supporters, and key partners and funders;

  • Envision and implement CCNDR's strategy for achieving its vision, in collaboration with staff, co-founders, and community;

  • Hire, onboard, and manage key staff and ensure effective, values-aligned staffing models;

  • Ensure that all programmatic and financial goals are met;

  • Position CCNDR as a sector leader through identifying, pursuing, and participating in strategic partnerships and serving on advisory boards and other expert tables.

You will report to the CCNDR Chair and be in regular communication with the whole team.

What You Bring

You’re a big-picture thinker who can also deliver on the details. You know how to develop an organizational strategy and are equally adept at execution. Juggling multiple priorities is your strong suit.

You have experience building relationships of trust, developing partnerships, and delivering sector-level and cross-sector collaborations. Since CCNDR is focused on the needs of the whole nonprofit sector, you bring experience identifying and delivering ecosystem and sector level interventions. And you have significant experience in a leadership role with demonstrated ability to inspire a team.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is entrepreneurial, flexible, comfortable with ambiguity, and trustworthy. You are visionary but also eager to roll up your sleeves. You are passionate about using technology for social good. And you are committed to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Nice to Have

Subject matter expertise in one or more areas relating to data or technology. Experience working in Canada’s digital ecosystem. English/French bilingualism.

What We Bring

The Canadian Centre for Nonprofit Digital Resilience works to create a digitally enabled nonprofit sector, where Canada’s nonprofits use data and tech to multiply their impact. We launched in 2021 and are still in the start-up phase. We bring a diverse group of cofounding organizations committed to supporting the success of the Executive Director (Centraide du Grand Montreal, CIO Strategy Council, Imagine Canada, Indigenous Peoples Resilience Fund, NTEN, SETSI, and Tamarack Institute). We have established relationships with 180 supporting organizations and 200 individual advisors ready to engage in CCNDR’s work. We also have funding commitments that will enable the Executive Director to build a core team and engage in forward planning.

This is an exciting moment to take the helm, and while you will have a lot of autonomy to drive your vision for CCNDR, you will have a strong community around you. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the ability of Canada’s nonprofits to serve their communities. While you will work from home, we move quickly, and you will have regular contact with your colleagues.

Compensation will be calculated based on individual experience and expertise. The range for this position is $150,000 CAD to $170,000 CAD. A benefits package will be determined in consultation with the successful candidate.
