The James Beard Foundation (JBF) is a vital cultural institution with deep roots honoring and advancing the culinary arts and industry for over 30 years. JBF’s mission is to celebrate, support, and elevate the people behind America’s food culture and champion a standard of good food anchored in talent, equity, and sustainability. The organization has experienced a historic year of organizational transformation and an increase in philanthropic support. It focused its efforts on the independent restaurant industry rebuilding and recovery in the wake of the pandemic.

We are currently looking for a Director of Database Systems/Salesforce to guide the Salesforce CRM platform at the Foundation technologically, strategically, and operationally by bringing strong CRM database leadership to the enterprise. Reporting to the Senior Director of Information and Technology, the Director of Database Systems/Salesforce will set and execute on a strategic vision and roadmap for the organization by collaborating with stakeholders and executive leadership. The role will act as a strategic partner and liaison between internal teams and external consultants. The ideal candidate will have enabled multiple business processes on the Salesforce platform and delivered working solutions that successfully served the various business leaders’ needs through effective dashboards and report delivery. This role is both strategically and operationally critical to the business needs.

This role is currently hybrid due to COVID19 and based at our New York City Office.

Requirements

Project Management and Development:

  • Perform day-to-day activities that include managing enhancements of business processes and driving operational efficiencies across the organization.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the administration of the Salesforce CRM database system.

  • Ensure ongoing adoption, support, training, architectural design, implementation, and custom development activities, as well as oversee enhancements upgrades, date conversations, release updates, and reporting for multiple departments.


Database Administration:

  • Liaise with all departments to acquire/ensure Contact, Account, Award, and Opportunity data are uploaded into Salesforce efficiently and consistently (or flowing properly through platform integrations).

  • Monitor database activity and usage and ensure necessary resources are present to function correctly.

  • Proactively determine data to collect, provide reports as needed across departments, and analyze the information as appropriate.


Database Management:

  • Assess risk, bandwidth, and financial budget for existing information systems and implementation projects.

  • Align business goals to ensure the organization has established risk assessment and definitions of success/failure for our projects.

  • Build the tools and provide the thought leadership required to further operationalize our existing system and operational developments and improvements.

  • Manage various external platforms working to integrate all with central database repository, ensuring information systems are non-repetitive and sync with CRM where applicable and efficient.


Qualifications

  • 8 - 10 years Salesforce experience

  • Experience working with technical and functional resources and following an Agile based delivery methodology.

  • Interface and partner with C-level Executives and Senior Leadership

  • Ability to understand the business, business needs and identify areas that can be optimized.

  • Ability to guide team on multiple task and deliver results with aggressive timelines

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

  • Salesforce certification preferred

The salary for this position is $100,000 – $130,000
