Digital Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Digital Manager to oversee Rethink Trade’s online presence across channels and platforms. This includes managing the brand website, developing compelling social media content, organizing high-level online events, crafting outbound email communications, and providing data-driven insights and reporting to drive process improvements.

The ideal candidate for this role will have demonstrated expertise in developing multi-channel digital strategies and the technical capacity to execute. You will work within the Rethink Trade team at Economic Liberties, helping to build consensus around bold approaches to addressing concentrated corporate power and notching victories in fights against some of the most dangerous and destructive monopolies in the world. This position will report to the Rethink Trade Director and Economic Liberties’ Communications Director.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and manage the Rethink Trade website to reflect real-time, global policy developments, demonstrate the depth and breadth of our work, and advance the site as a valuable resource for key stakeholder audiences;

  • Lead strategic planning and execution of Rethink Trade’s social media presence; generating, editing, publishing and sharing daily content (original text, curated articles, images, and video) across platforms to both advance Rethink Trade’s legislative, policy, and narrative change goals, and educate and inspire action among policymakers and our supporters;

  • Build and maintain relationships with social media and digital campaign staff of coalition partners, Congressional members, and influencers; working with these cross-organizational teams to plan joint strategies for digital initiatives, leading when appropriate;

  • Lead production and promotion of high-level online events working with Congressional staff and partners to educate external audiences and advance key policy objectives;

  • Write, design, segment, and schedule email communications for all Rethink Trade programs, events, reports, and initiatives; monitor schedule and response rates to optimize engagement;

  • Collaborate with Rethink Trade Director on branded podcast; coordinate guests, recordings, and manage externally contracted post-production process;

  • Develop metrics and growth targets for each online channel, and regularly produce analytics to make data-driven recommendations for program improvement; and

  • Manage consultants, contractors, and other vendors as needed.


An ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of digital communications experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally with a political campaign, advocacy organization, or newsroom;

  • Excellent strategic planning, project management, web, design, writing, multimedia production, and computer skills;

  • Deep understanding of content strategy and analytics, with knowledge of a broad range of web technologies and web standards;

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and multimedia production and editing;

  • Advanced understanding of a range of tools used to effectively implement a robust digital strategy including advanced analytics, database structures and management, CMS/ESP/eCRM tools including WordPress, EveryAction, MailChimp, Google Groups, Mobile Commons;

  • Sense of curiosity and orientation for learning; and

  • Passion for fighting corporate power.


This is a full time, exempt position. The salary range is $70,000 – $75,000 plus excellent employer-paid full coverage benefits, including health, dental, and vision, as well as generous vacation and unlimited sick days, employer matching 401k plan, and up to twelve weeks parental leave.
