Hacienda CDC
Pronouns: They/them
Isa Alvarez (they/them) is a queer artist originally from the Sacramento area. Isa is passionate about community empowerment, educational equity and the 'A' in STEAM. They have a Bachelor's degree in Art History and Gender Studies from UC Davis and they are curious about the ways that artistic creativity can bring about social transformation. As a Program Manager at Hacienda CDC, Isa supports day-to-day operations at 3 Learning Centers in the Portland area bringing digital equity and STEM education programming to community members of all ages. Isa's favorite part of their digital inclusion work is seeing community members connect with each other to continue to support one another's digital skill-building after participating in a workshop or program. When they aren't doing digital equity work, Isa can be found at the ceramics studio making pottery, in their kitchen experimenting with new recipes, or tending to their beloved garden.
