Improving outcomes with human-centered design thinking

Are you a problem solver who loves nothing better than seeing the system, program, or product you built actually solve the problem it was meant to solve? Then it’s time to demystify human-centered design.

Human-centered design is a practical process for designing systems, programs, and products to drive the outcomes you and your organization care about the most. It’s also a mindset that will change the way you approach your work.

Don’t be misled by the design reference — it’s a best practice that can be applied anywhere and by anyone, whether it’s to identify the right tech to support operations, develop a new program for those you serve, or even build new apps and websites.

In this course, we’ll start with the fundamental principles and rationale behind human-centered design, spend time with examples of nonprofits and social enterprises that have successfully leveraged human-centered design, learn the how-tos, and do a little practicing.

You’ll leave with next steps for applying human-centered design fundamentals to work at your organization.
