Candid is seeking an enthusiastic Technical Project Manager to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success. The ideal candidate will preferably have a background in nonprofit organizations, bring a profound understanding of technology, and play a pivotal role in driving innovation, efficiency, and impactful project deliveries. Position: Technical Project Manager

Reporting to: Director of Technology Project Management

Supervises: N/A

Schedule:  35-hour work week, Monday through Friday

Location: Flexible. In-person attendance is expected during our annual, weeklong all-staff summit. Additionally, participation in in-person meetings is expected at least once per year for most employees, and at least once per quarter for senior leaders.

Compensation: $100,000 – $135,000 (this range is for the NYC area and will be adjusted for other localities; additionally, factors like skills and experience will be considered)

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the successful delivery of projects regardless of the chosen methodology by leveraging their in-depth knowledge of Project Management, Delivery Management, Agile methodologies, and principles. Additionally, familiarity with technologies such as Salesforce, Java, C#, AWS, DevOps, AI/ML, and Robotic Process Automation is highly preferred. The ideal candidate should have a passion for fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Under the guidance of the Director of Technology Project Management, the ideal candidate will lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality technology solutions within specified timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and maintain tailored project plans that align with the specific needs of each project, considering diverse project methodologies, including Agile and non-Agile approaches.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project ceremonies, adapting methodologies to the project’s nature, whether following Agile principles, traditional methodologies, or a mixture of both.
  • Lead project teams in executing projects, ensuring adherence to best practices and successful attainment of project objectives within diverse project environments.
  • Work closely with the engineering team (dev + test), product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to prioritize and refine the product backlog.
  • Manage and optimize team workflows, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns strategically with our organization’s goal.

Technical Expertise:

  • Utilize proficiency in Agile & project management tools (e.g., Jira, Monday.com, Kendis) to effectively manage and track project progress.
  • Apply knowledge of API integration principles and tools to facilitate seamless communication between different software applications.
  • Hands-on involvement in test execution, test plan/case creation, and related activities as needed.
  • Possesses good knowledge of Salesforce, Java, C# AWS, DevOps, Robotic Process Automation, design, and API Integration-based projects.
  • Provide guidance and support to development teams, leveraging technical expertise to address challenges effectively.
  • Exposure to machine learning and artificial intelligence projects related to data science is highly preferred.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Foster a collaborative team environment by promoting open communication and transparency.
  • Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring a shared understanding of project objectives.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and address potential impediments to the team’s success proactively.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to develop mitigation strategies for project risks.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.
  • Work collaboratively with teams to implement best practices and optimize workflows.
  • Implement best practices and introduce new tools or methodologies to enhance efficiency.
  • Proactively identify areas for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance project delivery efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Technology Project Management to implement strategic improvements.

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 6+ years of experience with a Master’s Degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Business, etc.) is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager, demonstrating successful project deliveries across diverse methodologies, including Agile and non-Agile.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles and methodologies, encompassing various approaches including Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Passion for driving continuous improvement and embracing change.
  • Willingness to perform other duties and special projects as needed/requested.
  • Sensitivity and respect for racial, gender, sexual orientation, and cultural differences.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Salesforce, Java, C#, AWS, and DevOps, Robotic Process Automation, UX-Design, AI/ML, API Integration related projects.
  • Experience with Nonprofit organizations.
  • PMP or equivalent certification.
  • Certification in Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe or equivalent.
