Summary of position

As the Senior Salesforce Administrator (SFA) at the FSHD Society, you will be pivotal in advancing our mission and anchoring our growth strategy. Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer, you will be instrumental in creating a comprehensive database, streamlining processes for operational efficiency, enhancing interaction and relationship tracking for personalized outreach, and developing business intelligence for informed decision-making.

Playing a key role in our day-to-day operations, you will be responsible for configuring, supporting, maintaining, and improving our database and 3rd party integrated applications. This position is at the heart of our growth strategy, working closely with a newly imagined development team to establish industry-leading standards in fundraising, manage programs, and support marketing initiatives. You will identify, develop, and deploy new business processes, helping guide the organization to improve development operations and efficiency in Salesforce. As part of the role, you will elicit, document, and analyze requirements around business challenges and then produce data-driven solutions. This role is part technical project manager, part administrator, part business analyst, and 100% dedicated to our mission.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  •  Interface with team members, program leaders, and other stakeholders to gather, understand, and translate requirements for various projects and initiatives.
  • Design, build, and implement scalable solutions using tools such as custom objects, applications, processes, and flows.
  • Provide input on business processes, always looking for opportunities to enable continuous improvement in all areas relating to data integrity, Salesforce, and integrated applications.
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards and contribute to the analysis of the output.
  • Manage all users, permissions, and other security controls in Salesforce and related applications.
  • Create and maintain consistent change management processes using sandboxes.
  • Author and maintain system-related documentation, including solution requirements, workflows, use cases, and updates.
  • Prepare user training materials and conduct periodic training sessions.
  • Evaluate, configure, and support ongoing maintenance of integrated applications.
  • Plan and execute large-scale data improvement projects, including data normalization, de-duping, and general clean-up within Salesforce and integrated applications.
  • Maintain and drive understanding of current Salesforce capabilities and stay up to date on latest Salesforce releases.
  • Direct the work of 3rd party Salesforce developer when needed.

Skills Required

  • Excellent project management skills and a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Salesforce for Nonprofits experience (minimum 2 years).
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage and prioritize simultaneous requests.
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong critical thinking skills.
  • Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to critically evaluate and prioritize information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts.
  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce and other integrated systems.


  • A documented history of successful project completion.
  • A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex processes.
  • Strong Salesforce interest and ability to quickly master modern technology.
  • Experience with nonprofit processes and Salesforce nonprofit Success Pack.
  • Experience supporting a high-functioning, major gift-focused development team raising funds through diverse revenue streams, utilizing moves management best practices.
  • Strong understanding of the Salesforce platform, with the ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, processes, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce best practices and functionality preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Salesforce administrator is preferred.
  • Salesforce Admin (ADM201) certified preferred (strong preference for ADM211).
  • Salesforce for Nonprofits Consultant certification preferred.


BS/BA Degree or Equivalent

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift boxes weighing at least 20 lbs., will sit for long periods, and may use repetitive wrist and hand motions involved in sorting and handling documents. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
