Data is connected to many conversations about technology, programs, evaluation, and planning for nonprofit staff. In 2020, we conducted a survey to explore where there were trends, opportunities, or challenges for staff collecting and using data strategically in their work. How did they collect data, who had access to it, and how was it used in decision-making or budgeting?TAKE THE SURVEY
In the original survey, we found that forty percent of respondents indicated they experienced most of the data collection challenges listed in the survey. In addition, respondents selected funding as the most valuable resource for data management, making clear how resource-intensive managing data can be for organizations of any size.
Two years later, we are reopening our survey to see what’s changed and what hasn’t. If you work in a nonprofit or community-based organization, we’d love your input — the more experiences included in the survey, the better the insights and trends we can surface.
The survey has 40 questions, and we estimate about 15 minutes to complete. If you participate, you can opt into a drawing to win a scholarship for registration and hotel stay for the 2023 Nonprofit Technology or a professional certificate.
