Each group is typically led by 2-3 volunteer organizers. Duties include:

  • Manage the online discussion group:
    • Welcome new community members
    • Make sure posts get responded to in a timely manner (whether by you or someone else)
    • Seed discussion posts
  • Manage online events: If your group holds online events, then potential duties include:
    • Planning
      • Develop a topic or find a speaker/facilitator
      • Plan a regular event time and work with NTEN to make sure the date/time is approved and that the NTEN-provided conference line/webinar resources are available
    • Promotion
      • Alert the community to the online event in a timely manner
      • List the event on the NTEN calendar
      • Post an announcement and reminder in the forum
      • Promote to personal and professional networks
    • Facilitation
      • Lead online event discussion
