Mari Eva is a fundraising and communications strategist with 17+ years' international and US experience in marketing, program development, and philanthropic enterprise. As the Associate Vice President of Harlem United’s Strategic Advancement, she is responsible for fundraising and communications efforts across a vast portfolio representing $50 million in service contracts, which includes a Federally Qualified Health Center, supportive housing, and direct services to nearly ten thousand New Yorkers.
Before returning to her home country, the US, Mari Eva spent almost two decades in Asia, working in the Middle East and India improving service delivery and social media campaigns across a continuum of diversity and inclusion issues, such as gender, sexual orientation, race, and ethnicity. She is the founder and former Executive Director of Maya for Women, a feminist resource center for women and one of the first registered organizations for lesbian, bisexual, and transwomen in India. She has also held fundraising and leadership roles through New York City community based organizations.
She approaches her work with an intersectional, global feminist perspective and has a passion for development management and base building in the nonprofit sector. She holds a triple-major Bachelors of Arts from the University of Bangalore in India, specializing in Sociology, Economics, and South Asian History.
