DC Bar FoundationMs. Jarratt is the Chief Executive Officer of the DC Bar Foundation. Founded in 1977, the DC Bar Foundation is the leading funder of civil legal aid in the District of Columbia, committed to the vision that all residents have equal access to justice and awarding more than $10M in grants in January 2020.
Before being selected to lead the DC Bar Foundation in 2014, Ms. Jarratt worked in the DC community for more than 20 years. She worked on the Hill, co-founded a law practice, served as agency counsel within the District’s Office of the Attorney General, and lobbied on behalf of the American Bar Association.
A graduate of Harvard College and the University of Michigan School of Law, Ms. Jarratt is active in the local and national legal community. She currently serves on the Board of the Washington Improv Theater and the National Conference of Bar Foundations. She is also active within the National Association of IOLTA Programs.
Ms. Jarratt is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Leadership Greater Washington. She was the 2015 recipient of the Charlotte E. Ray Recipient, given annually to an African American female attorney who has demonstrated a strong commitment to community involvement, membership, advocacy, and excellence in the Metropolitan Washington community. And in October 2019, she was recognized by the Washington Business Journal as one of their “Women Who Mean Business.
