The Imperative to Increase Data Literacy Across Your Organization

Submitted by: Alexandra Mannerings 🟠 | Merakinos

Description

Understanding data and analytics isn’t just for IT. It isn’t just for “numbers people.” Whether we like it or not, we are deluged with data every day. Fortunately, this firehose of analytics can help us amplify our impacts as nonprofits and be more effective stewards of our resources – but only if we all are comfortable with key data concepts. Data literacy is about helping your teams build a shared language of data communication, recognize good and bad data, and appropriately apply analytics to improve decision-making. Invest in your team both personally and professionally by developing a robust and inclusive data literacy training program. In this talk, I’ll help you understand what data literacy really is and isn’t, why it matters, how you can start a sustainable and impactful data literacy program, and how to ultimately fuel organizational and community success with this new superpower.
