22NTC Session: Digital Inclusion
The Impact of Representation in the Digital Sphere
Submitted by: Nardos Alemayehu | ParsonsTKO

Description

There are limitations in all things digital, and most of them impact the marginalized the most. When we think about the ethics of data practices, whatever progress has been made has been done with a majority-white, male tech industry behind the movement. As we start to reimagine our relationship with data, we must think about the implications of data ethics, technological access, etc. and how it can impact marginalized communities both for better or for worse.
