Description
Over the last few years, the communications industry has made significant progress in breaking down stigmas around workplace mental health conversations. Words like stress and burnout are openly discussed in team meetings and webinars; “corporate mental health” days have been added to company calendars, and meditation app subscriptions are at the top of many employer benefit lists. But while it may seem like all of these gestures are helping to create more empathic and compassionate workplaces, are they actually improving the mental health of the individuals on our teams? Or are they simply surface-level solutions to more complicated challenges?
In this session, Amy Small, EVP of Creative and Brand at Media Cause, and Kasey Taylor, President of The Scooty Fund, a nonprofit mental health organization, will explore 5 common challenges that organizations face when addressing this critical issue, and share recommendations for making mental healthcare practices, not just a perk, but a core component of your overall culture.
