22NTC Session: IT
Getting Started With Nonprofit Cybersecurity
Submitted by: Audra Hurd | Adoptions Together

Description

Cybersecurity is critical for organizations of all sizes and designations. In the nonprofit world, we are often working with confidential data, small technology budgets, and many staff not formally trained in technology, privacy, and security. As we digitize our organizations, our need for cybersecurity increases.  By learning about, investing in, and implementing cybersecurity practices, we can work to keep our organizations healthy so we can fulfill our missions.

In this workshop, we will learn the basics of cybersecurity and how to apply them at your nonprofit. We will discuss where to start, how to plan for the future, funding tips, and ways to get buy-in. Implementing a cybersecurity plan involves everyone in an organization. We will examine how to work together to create a plan that will actually work for your team, without being too burdensome. Finally, we will explore initial and ongoing training for everyone in your organization.
