Educating in a Pandemic: Tools and Technology
Description
For this session, we will discuss the creative and forward thinking tools our staff have used to support the remote learning of our unique student population. Dearborn Academy is a Chapter 766 Therapeutic Day School servicing students in grades 3-12 with significant social/emotional and learning disabilities. When we went out to remote learning on March 13th, we had to quickly shift to meet the needs of our student population
We will look at what technology resources our teaching team, our Learning Center staff, our clinical staff and has employed to ensure the modification of the curriculum and MA state standards for their students.
We will also look at how the leadership team at Dearborn used technology to support our staff in accomplishing this mission to educate the most complex learners in a remote world. We had to quickly shift our communication style and method to increase collaboration despite the distance.
