22NTC Session: Leadership
Cultivate Staff Talent and Learn When to Let Them Lead
Submitted by: Audra Hurd | Adoptions Together

Description

Empowering staff has become one of the most important management efforts in the current climate, especially since the pandemic triggered the “great resignation”. More than ever, managers must examine their own leadership practices, recognize and cultivate talent, and empower their staff to grow and succeed.  As nonprofits strive to fulfill their missions, staff retention and growth is imperative for healthy organizations and operational success.

Attendees of this session will learn how to motivate and empower their teams to take the initiative and provide possible solutions vs asking for guidance and/or possible steps for resolution.  During the session we will examine current management styles and learn to recognize talent. In addition, we will discover how to evaluate, how to cultivate, and develop staff at different levels. Finally, we will explore the transition to a more hands-off, outcome-based management style.
