Working Outside the Box: Building and Supporting Diverse Remote Teams


Remote work can take a variety of forms. Do you struggle to attract and retain the best candidates regardless of their geography? Do you want to create an equitable and inclusive work environment while limiting the cost of your physical footprint? How can you support a remote team with diverse cultures, perspectives, and generations?

Use the remote workplace to build diversity and increase collaboration across your organization, while maintaining accountability. Learn how to adjust your strategy to accommodate different varieties of remote teams and see how it can work with your existing budget.

Vee Bell (they/them) is a tech-savvy learning evangelist with insatiable enthusiasm for knowledge management, professional development & creative problem solving. They work with Teach For America as a member of Executive Leadership & Learning, a 100% remote team, bringing virtual L&D experiences to a network of regional leadership teams, both internal and external, across Teach For America’s 51 regions nationwide.

Shasti Walsh

Associate Product Manager


Shasti Walsh (she/her) is an Associate Product Manager at PatronManager, a cloud-based CRM system built on Salesforce. Shasti’s background is in nonprofit arts management, and she was most recently a training specialist and manager on the client support team at PatronManager. In addition to three years of experience onboarding, training, working with, and managing remote employees, Shasti is a digital nomad who works from her laptop, primarily in Europe.

Christina Johnson

Senior Manager of Client Support


Christina Johnson (she/her) is the Senior Manager of Client Support at PatronManager, a cloud-based CRM system built on Salesforce. PatronManager provides a platform to support performing arts organizations in creating and maintaining better relationships with their patrons. In addition to leading a highly-collaborative remote team of 17 people who operate smoothly across the US and beyond, Christina is an experienced Salesforce Administrator and trainer, with a nonprofit background which includes marketing, fundraising, and the performing arts.
