20NTC Session Proposal

U Up? Using Peer-to-Peer Texting to Engage with your Supporters

Your supporters are never more than an arm’s reach from their phones and with peer-to-peer texting, you can now engage them in direct conversation. From turning out the vote and signing petitions to soliciting donations, P2P texting allows your organization to deepen its connection with its supporters. In this session, we’ll share how the DNC has used P2P texting for fundraising, engagement and cultivation, and GOTV. In addition, we’ll cover some basics and best practices, including how P2P is different than other texting opportunities — and how to use both, the various platforms, scripting recommendations, and success stories and testing results from a range of organizations. From bumps in other channels to bringing on monthly sustainers to cultivation and event follow-up, you’ll learn how P2P can be a valuable addition to your multichannel arsenal.
