The Design Dream Team: Working Better Together
Let’s be real: designers have LOTS of opinions. Sometimes bringing in a vendor to collaborate with your in-house team invites feelings of trepidation. “What if they’ll undo the work I’ve done? What if my director will like their work better?” Designers can be territorial, but it doesn’t have to be this way.
Russell Estes has been Creative Director at the SPLC for over 20 years; Vicki Brown has done branding, design across print and digital for over 16 years. Together, they’ll talk through the ways they collaborated on creating designs for the new Tolerance.org and the SPLC, and did so with a level of mutual trust and yes — fun. When you free yourself of being territorial, you invite new perspectives to the drawing board, and those new perspectives lead to more diverse and equitable outcomes.
- learn best practices for a healthy client-vendor relationship
- learn ways to build trust that will lead to more fun and play in the creative process
- learn how to invite other perspectives so that it will lead to better, more inclusive and equitable outcomes
