Make a Robot for Good, Not Evil: Building a Chatbot on Facebook

Did you know that each month, there’s an average of 1.3 billion (billion!) active users on Facebook Messenger? That’s why Climate Reality and Sierra Club built robots—er, launched campaigns there. But are chatbots really worth the time? And can you really make one work for your organization?

In this session, we’ll take a look at how chatbots are being used by Climate Reality and Sierra Club on small and large scales — to engage a few thousand to hundreds of thousands of users. We’ll also look at what the research says about bot best practices, what tools are available to build a bot and show some of the results each organization has seen.
