How do you ensure you’re reaching the correct audience with your nonprofit’s community platform?
The Trust for Public Land, City Parks Alliance, and National Recreation and Park Association partnered to create Parkology. Park professionals and enthusiasts were excited about this new platform to connect with each other and resources for local parks. But when usership stagnated and community growth wasn’t happening, the partners had to retrace their steps to figure out why. Parkology was designed around assumed audiences and needs, but it wasn’t clear if those assumptions were accurate.
We’ll discuss how to target a clear audience, do the work to engage them, and find out what they need from your site. Through research, you can make sure that the language and content throughout your platform speaks to your audience and is welcoming and accessible to them.
