Faster Forward: Lessons Learned Leaping into the Digital Age
Twenty years ago, ICCR launched a custom FoxPro database that empowered our members to coalition-build and manage their advocacy with publicly traded corporations in real time.
Fast forward two decades. How could we help our members have far-reaching impact, when we were stuck in the digital Stone Age, using a now-ancient database on server we could barely keep alive? We urgently needed a replacement that not only reflected our members’ evolving strategies, but could also help them mobilize campaigns with corporations, and measure their impact anywhere, in the moment.
Our solution was to find a partner who understood that building an exceptional user experience was key. Working with Message Agency, we rebuilt our site in Drupal and integrated that front-end with Salesforce, which opened up new ways of thinking about building our impact as an advocacy organization, so that we can move forward even faster.
