20NTC Session Proposal

Donor Engagement Strategies That Support The Whole Donor Pyramid

Submitted by: Zach Shefska | MarketSmart

During this session, Kay Malone Quillen, Director of Planned Giving at American Humane, and Zach Shefska, Chief Operating Officer at MarketSmart, explore specific strategies your organization can employ to engage donors, generate leads and increase qualifications across the annual, major and planned giving teams. These approaches are designed to encourage and reveal planned gifts, and get mid-level and major donor prospects to self-identity, all while supporting overall development efforts. They’ll discuss marketing techniques that can be used to spark major gifts and planned giving, while also aiding the annual fund and membership with cultivation and reactivation. Additionally, they’ll share insights into how they’ve been able to develop pipelines for planned and major gifts in combination with other areas of development using win-win thinking.

Learning Outcomes

  • Implement cost effective planned gift marketing that compliments and amplifies efforts of the major gift, annual and membership teams.
  • Focus all gift officers on reaching their best prospects through better prioritization and efficient qualification methods.
  • Specific strategies you can employ that promote collaboration, not competition, across all layers of fundraising.

Target Audience
