Cybersecurity: What Is It, Why Should I Care, and What Can I Do?

Submitted by: Ash Shepherd NTEN Member badge |

Description

The stakes for nonprofits of all sizes are increasingly high—breaches, compromised data, and cyber attacks can put donors, clients, and the organization at risk. This is practical information that will focus on why nonprofits should care about cybersecurity, what do all the various acronyms mean (GDPR, PII, HIPPA), and outline next steps and best practices for being a more secure nonprofit.

You’ll hear from nonprofits about their experiences and go through a quick Threat Assessment workshop, giving your organization a concrete tool to get you headed in the right direction.

In this session, we will be covering

  • Define what Cybersecurity means and how it impacts your organization
  • Empower you with clear steps and practices you can implement to make your org more secure
  • Increased understanding of Cybersecurity general principles and key terms

This session was hand-crafted by NTEN to tackle an issue that transcends departmental silos, and is part of our inaugural Featured Sessions program.
