Crash Course in Design Thinking Workshops

Submitted by: Wendy Harman NTEN Member badge |

Description

This session will be a crash course in design thinking. The attendees will learn what design thinking is, and why it is useful in nonprofit technology and program management, by participating in a variety of exercises that will illuminate the fun and impactfulness of design thinking and give the attendees the skills to conduct similar workshops with their colleagues back at their organizations.

We will talk about the purpose of empathy-building exercises, facilitative brainstorming techniques, How Might We statement generation, the synthesis process, and choosing ideas based on feasibility, desirability, and viability. We will also touch on the processes of building and implementing the new idea, and methods for testing and measuring.

We will provide resources and links for learning more about this process.
