Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, and Your Nonprofit: Donations and Fundraising Gamification

Submitted by: Allison Bickel | RunSignup

Less than 1% of nonprofits accept cryptocurrency donations, but hundreds of millions have already been donated through cryptocurrency. What does your nonprofit need to know about cryptocurrency today to take advantage of a quickly growing giving mechanism? And how can blockchain be used to incentivize and gamify peer to peer fundraising in the future?

This session will be led by 2 industry experts. Attorney Karen Ubell of Cooley LLP provides legal guidance on how nonprofits can securely and safely accept cryptocurrency as donations now to take advantage of quickly growing cryptocurrency donations. A guest speaker from Dapper Labs, the creators of CryptoKitties, discusses how blockchain and encrypted tokens could be the future of fundraising gamification, and what your nonprofit needs to know to take advantage of emerging trends.
