Beyond Webinars: New Models for Scaling Digital Engagement and Expanding Your Organization’s Reach

Nonprofit organizations rely on programmatic engagement to raise awareness of their cause, fundraise, and influence local and national policy. For many organizations, this involves delivering both on-ground programs and online events such as webinars. Increasingly, organizations are seeking new and creative ways to engage their audiences online, especially as consumer desires for personalized and just-in-time content continues to rise.

In this session, we will share how nonprofits are evolving their digital engagement strategy to go beyond webinars. We will share examples of online communities, on-demand learning, and social media channels that are currently being used by organizations to more effectively engage their stakeholders in day-to-day programming. This session will speak candidly about our successes, as well as what we have learned through trial and error.

This session is ideal for anyone responsible for membership engagement, programmatic development, and training and development programs.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify digital engagement methods and their purposes
  • Distinguish between on-demand learning, online communities, and social media engagement
  • Articulate a rationale for organizations to either expand or implement a digital engagement strategy
