The Accidental Techie’s Guide to Creating Awesome Online Learning Experiences


TechSoup and Julia Campbell bring more than a decade of experience to designing engaging online trainings in a wide variety of accessible formats. They’ll lead this highly participatory and activity-driven workshop to help you evaluate online training delivery methods and build effective training for your nonprofit staff or external constituencies. Assess different LMS (learning management systems) and learn from your peers and experts in the room on how to use online learning tools to accomplish your organizational goals. Gain insights on the needed mindsets and skill sets to achieve your mission and have a greater impact in your programs.

Julia Campbell

Julia Campbell has run her digital marketing consulting business for almost a decade, focused exclusively on mission-driven organizations. A mom of 2 and a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, she is the author of Storytelling in the Digital Age: A Guide for Nonprofits, a call-to-action for nonprofits to use stories to accomplish their missions.

Based in Boston, Julia is a global authority on digital storytelling, with happy clients spanning the globe from Moscow to San Francisco. She has provided workshops and training to Meals on Wheels America, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and Facebook. Julia is a frequent contributor to Nonprofit Tech for Good, Social Media Today, Maximize Social Business, Elevation Web, Network for Good, Wild Apricot, and others.

Daphne Lagios

Daphne has divided her professional career between the nonprofit world and public education. She started with working at a small nonprofit partner of a national park and like many employees at many nonprofits, wore numerous hats: development, administration, education and events. Then, she spent 15 years in adult education, teaching ESL and computer skills to new immigrants and developing programs for parents of young ELL learners. Transitioning back to nonprofit world, she worked in Account Management and Fulfillment at TechSoup before starting her current position as Courses Specialists as part of the Services & Solutions Team.

Practical Wisdom for Nonprofit Accidental Techies

Maureen Wallbeoff is a nonprofit digital strategist and technology coach. If you are drowning in data or your systems aren’t working efficiently together, she’s got practical wisdom to share!

In addition to her work with clients, she has authored several guides on nonprofit engagement software, blogs at her website, and answers questions live every Friday afternoon on her Facebook page. A regular contributor to nonprofit industry media channels, Maureen has led workshops all over the U.S. and Canada and is one of Idealware’s expert trainers.
