Can I register for the NTC?

Registration for the 18NTC is now open. Register early for the best available rates. You can review registration pricing and cutoff dates on the registration page.

How can I cancel my registration?

NTC registration fees are fully refundable within 30 days of registering for the event, through March 11, 2018. After that 30-day grace period, a $50 handling/processing fee will be charged, and the balance of your registration fee will be refunded.

If you do not cancel by 11:59pm PT on March 11, 2018, or if you fail to show up for the event, no refund will be issued.

All cancellations must be in writing and should be emailed to Please call 503-272-8800 to arrange a substitution. All registration refunds will be processed by May 15, 2018.

Do I need to be a NTEN member to attend?

The 18NTC is open to non-members and members alike, but NTEN members receive deep discounts on their conference registration fee. If you’re not already a member of NTEN, we encourage you, or your entire organization, to join today. Not only will you receive a full year of the many benefits available to NTEN members, you’ll also save on your 18NTC registration fees. You can also purchase an NTEN membership during the 18NTC registration process.

How can I register a group?

Use our group registration form to register a group of attendees.

I need to register my colleague. How can I do that?

Use our group registration form to register anyone other than yourself, even if it’s only one person.

Can I transfer my registration to another person?

Substitutions can be made at any time up to the start of the conference. Please call 503-272-8800 to arrange a substitution.

Can I walk in and sign up for the conference?

Walk-ins are accepted as long as the conference is not sold out.

Where do I pick up my badge?

You can pick up your badge at the Registration Desk during registration hours at the conference.

Do I have to sign up for the sessions?

Registered participants can attend any session listed in the conference schedule. We do not require nor allow signing up for any particular session. Seating is first-come, first-serve for all sessions. If a session becomes full, we will have staff on-hand to help you select a different session.

Scholarships & Discounts

How can I apply for a registration scholarship?

Scholarships are available in three categories: Diversity, Local, and General. Applications for scholarships closed in December 2017.

What discounts are available?

A $300 discount on conference registration fees is a benefit of NTEN membership. Become a member today. See the registration information page to view the best current rate. Registration rates are the same for both nonprofits and for-profits. There are no student discounts.

How can I volunteer at 18NTC?

We are no longer accepting volunteer applications.  It’s an excellent opportunity to not only pay a reduced registration rate ($199) but to also see the conference behind the scenes and support the NTEN community. Potential volunteer roles include: managing information and registration lines, providing assistance to the speaker(s) as needed, helping exhibitors and sponsors in the Exhibit Hall, and directing people towards their destinations. Those who submit an application will hear back by the end of February whether they’ve been selected.

Participants may volunteer to help NTEN staff with 8 hours of on-site tasks to receive a discounted registration rate. Volunteer applications will open in December.

Location & Meals

Where will the event be held?

The 2018 Nonprofit Technology Conference will be held at the Ernest M. Morial Convention Center, located at 900 Convention Center Blvd., New Orleans, LA, 70130. Start planning your trip to New Orleans today!

Where can I stay?

The conference has negotiated a special group discount of $249/night at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside for those booking before April 9th. Check our travel page for more information or book directly with the hotel online.

SCAM ALERT: You will never be contacted directly by NTEN or a third party to make hotel reservations. If you are contacted with reservation offers, it’s a scam and you should not provide them with your credit card information.

Are meals included?

Grab-and-go breakfast, buffet lunch and light appetizers during receptions are included with your registration. Please see the schedule for more information. There are a number of dining options close to the hotel to satisfy any post-reception dinner cravings.

Can you accommodate my special dietary needs?

We plan to accommodate special dietary needs (such as vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, kosher, halal) to the extent we are able. Please indicate your needs during the registration process. We’ll contact individuals selecting those options prior to the NTC to let you know what accommodations have been made for you.


How can I present a session?

One unique aspect of the NTC is that all our breakout sessions are proposed, selected, and presented by our community. We begin the process in late spring, with community voting taking place in the summer, and program selections announced in the fall. More information can be found here.

What is an Ignite?

Ignite is a fast-paced, fun, thought-provoking presentation format that educates and entertains. Ignite talks give you the opportunity to share your fascinations and passions with the NTEN community. But, there’s a catch: you are strictly limited to five minutes, and 20 slides, which advance automatically every 15 seconds. This is not a sales pitch. It’s a passion pitch. Applications are now closed.

What is the Official NTC Party?

The Official NTC Party is a sponsored gathering which will be held at Mardi Gras World on Thursday, April 12th from 7 – 10pm. Tickets are available for $25, and each ticket includes one drink ticket and appetizers.


Can I request sign language interpretation or live-captioning?

We are pleased to provide interpretation or captioning services. Please contact us at as early as possible to arrange for those services.

Will childcare be available?

No. However, there are a number of drop-in childcare centers located in New Orleans. Children are always welcome at NTC, and we don’t require them to be registered attendees, as long as they don’t interrupt sessions.

How can I take care of my needs as a lactating parent?

We will have a lactation room available with comfortable seating, cubbies for storage, Wi-Fi, and a small fridge.

Will gender-neutral restrooms be available at the conference venue?

Gender-neutral restrooms will be identified on the map in the conference app.

How can I easily share my gender pronouns?

NTEN is committed to celebrating and honoring the diversity of our community. Pick up a pronoun ribbon after you pick up your 18NTC badge. We’ll provide ribbons to convey she/her, he/him, or they/them, as well as customizable blank ribbons.

Use of these ribbons is optional; however, we strongly encourage all attendees to participate. The more attendees who participate, the less likely someone will stand out for noting their pronouns.

Are service animals welcome?


Can I rent a mobility device?

Yes. Please email by March 1, 2017 to arrange for these services.

I’m trying to maintain my sobriety; how can I find support while at the conference?

We understand how important it is to get extra support when out of your routine or away from home. All official NTC receptions will have plenty of non-alcoholic options and NTEN will provide space for community-run 12-step gatherings each morning at 18NTC. Coffee will be provided.

Find a Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous meeting near the conference venue.


What is the conference Code of Conduct policy?

How can I find my people?

Community is the heart and soul of the Nonprofit Technology Conference. There’s something for everyone at the NTC. Learn more about the various gatherings and suggest your own.


What is the dress code?

Most NTC participants wear comfortable, business-casual attire. Comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended, and nerdy t-shirts are always welcome. We aim to keep the temperature at a comfortable 72 degrees inside the convention center, but if you are prone to chills, please bring a sweater or a light jacket.

How does badge scanning work?

While visiting exhibitors, they may ask to scan your badge. By allowing your badge to be scanned, you are consenting to share your contact information with the exhibitor. The information collected from you may include your name, address, phone number, fax number, and email address. The information retrieved by our scanners is for the sole purpose of the exhibiting company only, and will not be shared with any third parties. If you do not want to offer this information, let the exhibitor know when they ask you.
