Northwest Justice Project (NJP) is a not-for-profit statewide law firm with a mission of Combating Injustice • Strengthening Communities • Protecting Human Dignity. NJP secures justice for people in or near poverty through high-quality legal advocacy that promotes the long-term well-being of low-income individuals, families, and communities through legal representation, community partnerships, education, and other advocacy.  

NJP has 340 staff working in 21 offices located throughout the state. The IT Applications Analyst works closely with our IT Support function with Help Desk Technicians to support colleagues with their technical issues. In addition, the Analyst collaborates with the IT Support Manager, Director of IT, and System Administrators to help develop solutions to complex problems that require more planning and project management.

This position is full-time based in Seattle, Washington. A hybrid schedule may be possible under NJP’s current telecommuting policy. Travel to NJP’s other offices around Washington is required when needed to perform essential job functions.

The IT Applications Analyst will report to the IT Support Manager and is responsible for the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing Help Desk functions, (e.g., answering staff questions in person, over the phone, or through email to solve computer, phone, or printing problems)
  • Installing new hardware, software, and upgrades to workstations
  • Providing an escalation path for more complex support issues—assisting the IT Support Manager in analyzing issues and bridging escalations to the Systems Administrators and
  • IT Director.
  • Participating actively in researching and testing new IT products, services, and solutions
  • Assisting with automation/scripting for existing products and services
  • Documenting work and contributing to NJP IT’s knowledge base.
  • Making note of any changes to processes and collaborating with the IT Director and IT Support Manager to provide updates for the team/company during Team Meetings, Tech Thursday training sessions, Update newsletter announcements, etc.
  • Assist Systems Administrators with patch management
  • Collaborate with other teams and vendors for repairs and troubleshooting for third-party applications or services
  • Assist in maintaining software and hardware inventory – and act as the main contact for cleanup projects, issues with workflow, etc.
  • Create training documentation/presentations for NJP colleagues about current technologies used at NJP.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Office 365 collaboration platform and tools
  • Windows 10 and 11 skills and account setup experience
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat and other common law firm applications
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, especially Teams Phone and Meetings
  • Ability to provide diagnostic troubleshooting in person, with remote access tools, and over the phone
  • General networking knowledge and experience with Windows networks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills and ability to multitask across multiple activities
  • Experience creating training documentation/directions
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
  • Patience working with those with varying technical skills and abilities
  • Able to work as an effective member of a team

COMPENSATION

Starting salary is based on years of experience, with an annual salary range of $61,900 to $115,000. We offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes 100% paid employee health premiums and significant premium shares for family health premiums, as well as generous time off.

Hours of work: NJP’s typical client office hours are 9:00 – 5:00, Monday through Friday.  Staff are expected to work the hours needed to meet the demands of the position.
