Systems Training and Knowledge Management Lead

The Systems Training and Knowledge Management Lead is responsible for enhancing the competencies of Development and Alumni Relations staff by designing and conducting training programs related to information systems that will boost workplace performance. Additionally, this position will be responsible for information systems knowledge management practices and policies. They will work closely with the Department Director’s to coordinate projects with overlapping responsibilities.

1. Perform training needs assessments, and design and deliver curriculum and learning materials related to Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) information systems

  • Identify training needs by evaluating DAR staff strengths and weaknesses related to DAR information systems
  • Translate requirements into training that will prepare DAR staff for the use of software
  • Build an annual training program and prepare teaching plans for DAR information systems
  • Identify, develop and deliver training on DAR information systems based on DAR priorities and assessments
  • Utilize assessment feedback to create, design, and deliver strategies for new learning and development opportunities and revise current curricula related to DAR information systems

2. Manage the current knowledge management practices, design new knowledge distribution policies, and encourage the use of practice and policies

  • Develop and maintain a library of online documentation on DAR information systems to provide quick and current help and guidance for all DAR staff
  • Assure that proper feedback on DAR information systems is obtained and incorporated into future opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Create and design new knowledge management policies and encourage the use of the new policies
  • Utilize the knowledge base resources and design a training module for DAR staff to help them access the knowledge management tools
  • Interact with DAR staff and managers to answer any inquiries about the knowledge management products and practices
  • Lead management of an internal knowledge base and establish efficient processes to ensure high quality, relevant content for DAR teams

3. In collaboration with the Director of Training and Development, develop DAR staff training on DAR information systems for new hires and existing staff to support overall staff retention

  • Develop and execute continual training of the DAR team in the areas of DAR information systems onboarding and new hire training for all DAR staff
  • Communicate with appropriate supervisors to determine technology access and training needs of new hires
  • Continue to advance and adjust existing DAR information systems training sessions to incorporate an all-inclusive approach to new hire training
  • Support staff through learning initiatives to support continuous improvement of training delivery
  • Collaborate with the Director of Staff Training and Development


High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Three to five years related work experience

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Solid analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills

Excellent computer skills with experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software

Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
