Systems Analyst

The system analyst will have responsibility for ensuring the effective deployment and support of key field data applications and reporting systems including core banking systems, Savings Group MIS, and the central operations reporting system. This is accomplished through effectively scoping and assisting with the development of these systems, serving as a subject matter expert on the specific systems used by HOPE, parameterizing systems, fixing problems as they arise, training and equipping users and providing strategic advice on industry trends and system use.

  • Promote and fulfill the mission and vision of HOPE International.
  • Solution Development
    • Design and develop appropriate in-house technological solutions to capture, store, and present data
    • Build on existing systems with efficient system improvements and integrations
  • Business Analysis
    • Work with key stakeholders and process owners to understand program needs for data collection and analysis
    • Research and propose technological solutions to address gaps, mitigate risks, and provide business owners needed information
  • Equip System Users
    • Provide training, advice and coaching to operations team members and country level staff in the effective use of HOPE’s field data systems
    • Approach each project or problem with an attitude of service and take every reasonable opportunity to equip and build the competence of system users
  • Provide Effective Support
    • Respond in a timely fashion to the real time support needs of programs, resolving problems and minimizing disruption to services
    • Provide proactive mitigation of potential problems by identifying system risks and reconfiguring an application to prevent either system malfunction or a mismatch of system capabilities with program needs
  • Project Management
    • Work with business owners and external vendors to design appropriate systems to meet needs
    • Guide development process by leading design discussions, managing to ensure deliverables are met, and facilitating good communication among all parties
  • Strategic Advice
    • Provide strategic advice to the Director of Technical Assistance on emerging trends in information and communication technology to keep HOPE at the forefront of innovation
  • Application Center of Excellence
    • Maintain expertise in recent releases of key data applications to serve the HOPE Network as a center of excellence for best practices and functionality
  • Other
    • Perform other technical assistance functions as necessary, including responding to information requests from other departments and consulting with partner programs on the effective utilization of field data applications


  • Personal confession of Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of HOPE International;
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business, or related field;
  • A minimum of one year of significant experience working in a relational database system;
  • Exposure to and familiarity with computer programming languages;
  • Strong organizational skills, including effective time management and prioritization of competing demands/multiple deadlines;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to conduct business analysis and prepare synthesis recommendations for presentation to senior leadership;
  • Excellent cross-cultural listening and communication skills;
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Experience with other Microsoft Office Suite products.
