Senior Director, Digital Products Essential Duties
Product Development

  • Manage and grow RIF’s product pipeline of digital products distributed to schools, libraries, and centers.
  • Coordinate activities for internal development staff and external vendors that support the portfolio including:
    • 2 software engineers, 1 web coordinator/digital engagement manager
    • Salesforce Vendor
    • Drupal Development Agency
    • Marketing Automation
  • Develop RIF’s digital and content strategy.
  • Keep a current roadmap of all digital development. Manage key deliverables and schedule for digital product portfolio
  • Maintain a ticketing system for digital development.
  • Manage external digital development teams.
  • Ensure that all digital products address RIF’s mission pillars.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure product and content strategies align with their requirements.
  • Maintain the Content Management System for use with all RIF products, whether external or internal.
  • Be an advocate for children’s literacy by developing relevant digital products that promote literacy.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 7-10 years experience;
  • Strong background in all aspects of product development;
  • Strong experience in developing digital products, especially education-focused products;
  • Strong experience managing complex vendor relationships;
  • Experience managing processes and working with key stakeholders;
  • Experience with content management;
  • Experience in defining product requirements based on business objectives and stakeholder input.
  • Experience in project budgeting and project management;
  • Experience in K-12 education highly desirable;

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong project management skills to manage projects and teams from concept to tracking
  • Experience managing a diverse technology stack
  • Ability to analyze findings and translate those findings into product and service recommendations
  • Ability to motivate and engage a network of affiliated programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with institutions, vendors and consultants
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Excellent written, verbal, and project management skills
  • Ability to travel
  • A creative team member with an ability to work collaboratively
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work productively under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated to work with new initiatives in online professional development
